"Greta Garbo"

The beautiful woman dressed in green
emerged from the elevator
looking calm, sophisticated and mysterious!

When the little girl saw her,
she ran to ask her mother
who this wonderful lady was.
  Her mother turned her attention
to where the little girl pointed
and said with awe,
"Why that's Greta Garbo!"
And indeed it was true.
Miss Garbo had come to pay tribute to
her long-time friend, Orson Welles,
for the success of his film noir masterpiece,
"Touch of Evil."
Rarely seen in public for many years now,
the impression she left for those
who saw her now,
was of regal bearing and class,

and when she turned her enigmatic smile
upon the little girl who looked at her
so adoringly, their hearts melted.

It would be a long time
before this encounter
would be forgotten.

Greta Garbo's compassion for the innocent is as legendary
as the woman herself,
and it is certain that it would have easily extended
to those who fight the battle against breast cancer every day.
