The doll is Gene, dressed as 'Annie Sullivan' Helen Keller's beloved teacher. Annie herself was partially blind and through the personal experience of her own suffering, was able to miraculously teach Helen Keller, who was totally blind and deaf, to read sign language by touch, to read braille, and to become one of the greatest inspirations of all time to those who strive to learn. |
